After the successful release of Webswing version 22.1 we are pleased to present the expected features for the next generation of Webswing.
Webswing has come a long way to become the industry standard in running legacy Java applications in browsers. Mainly those applications written in Swing, JavaFX and Netbeans. Time required from initial testing up to running these apps in the final production environment in a browser is immensely short, thus giving the companies all over the world a chance to pay attention to crucial parts of their business.
For many companies, ditching the legacy application and simply creating a new one isn’t an option. Either because of the overall complexity of the app or simply because of the substantial resources required for rewriting it. Nevertheless, the clock’s ticking and we all know that the time being stuck with thick clients is way beyond what industry and mainly users require.
In Webswing we are very well aware of this situation. Therefore, in order to help companies with their transition, we decided to put even more effort in our Migration Framework. This bond toward our customers is clearly mirrored in the new Development vision for Webswing that envisions what customers can expect in (at least) two more releases yet to be revealed.
The work on the new versions has already begun and we cannot wait for the day we present the results and change the way companies approach the transition from legacy desktop Java applications to running their software fully in the browsers.
