Webswing Limited processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and other applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy explains how and why we process personal data and provides the information required under Article 13 GDPR.

Webswing Limited (“Webswing”, “we”, “us” or “our”) develops and licenses Webswing software, which enables Java desktop applications to run in a web browser using HTML5. Webswing also operates www.webswing.org (the “Website”) and the Webswing Client Portal (the “Client Portal”).

4.Tracking of Downloads, Application Launches, Documentation Use, and other

When you download Webswing binaries or launch the software via our Website or Client Portal, we record certain event data (such as timestamp, launch counter, IP address, software version, and email address if provided). Additionally, we collect limited usage data related to our online documentation and portals, including:

• searches performed in the documentation,
• page views and navigation within the documentation (on the Website and Client Portal),
• external link clicks;
• user feedback submitted (if provided);
• and user activity within the Client Portal (if logged in).

These records are not made public and are used strictly for internal purposes, such as:

• verify compliance with the evaluation license and usage rules,
• detecting and preventing unauthorized use;
• understanding how users interact with our documentation and tools;
• and improving product quality and user experience.

This processing is based on our legitimate interest in protecting our intellectual property, improving our services, and supporting customers and potential customers.

5.How long we keep data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to meet legal, contractual, and operational requirements. Retention periods are determined in accordance with applicable laws and regulations (such as tax or audit obligations), contractual commitments, and our internal data management policies.

Where a third party processes personal data on your behalf, it is subject to appropriate data protection obligations, including a data processing agreement where required by Article 28 GPDR. 

7.International transfers

Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law, such as an adequacy decision, the US-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

9.Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security testing. While no internet-based service can be 100% secure, we are committed to maintaining a high level of data protection.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any material changes will be announced on our website. Continued use of our services after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
